CACEA hosted a great discussion with Mark Sakai the BC Real Estate Association (BCREA) and Lauren Souch from the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) on February 25th, 2025. The discussion focused around Real Estate professionals working with Registered Energy Advisors, including the work they already do with REAs, and how this relationship can be strengthened.

The presentation explores how homes in wildfire-prone areas can be designed or retrofitted to better resist embers, flames, heat, and smoke. It covers construction practices and materials that improve resilience, such as fire‑resistant building components, strategic detailing, and defensive design.
