CACEA™ Brings The EA Voice To HOT2000 Modernization
On September 11, 2026, CACEA™ convened a national session of its EA Council to gather practitioner feedback on ECCC’s modernization of HOT2000. EAs from existing homes, new construction, and code compliance streams, along with QA Specialists and Service Organizations from across the country, weighed in on what the platform needs to get right.
That discussion became a detailed 46-recommendation submission to ECCC, covering everything from file ownership and offline access to eliminating workarounds, modernizing the interface, and native support for modern mechanical systems. Presented without individual attribution, it reflects the collective, practical experience of the people who use HOT2000 every day and complements ECCC’s formal feedback process.
CACEA™ has offered to stay closely involved as modernization moves forward — reviewing interface designs with practicing EAs and helping prioritize the work ahead.
