CACEA has a Continuing Education Credit (CEC) program for our Full and Junior EA members.
This annual program is designed to further highlight that CACEA members are knowledgeable and focused on providing informed and credible services.
CEC PROGRAM BENEFITS
- Documents a commitment to on-going education and skills improvement with participation variety of field-based events, education/training and up-skilling.
- Offers a record of learning for employers relevant to job tasks, career advancement or job applications.
- Provides validation to stakeholders who value continuous professional development, e.g., DMS program providers (utilities; provincial/municipal).
- Highlights the reliability and expertise of CACEA’s REAs.
CEC PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- Applies only to Full and Junior EA members in good standing1.
- Complete 182 approved CECs (≈ 1 credit = 1 hour) annually (January – December3).
- Record CECs with proof of participation as required in the member profile.
- The CECs must be relevant to the REA professional work/expertise and approved by CACEA.

If you have a program that might be eligible for Continuing Education Credits, please submit the Continuing Education Credit Request Form.
The education committee will review submissions, assign credits if applicable and notify the program provider.
1 Good standing = Annual SO verification letter; E&O insurance; adhere to NRCan Code of Conduct and CACEA Code of Ethics; successfully completed NRCan REA qualification and requalification exams. At the time of renewal, CACEA REA members are also required to confirm each year that they have Errors and Omissions Insurance, will abide by CACEA’s Code of Ethics and provide an updated SO verification letter.
